A meeting was convened in Jamia Binoria International, 3 years ago, to discuss many problems which are faced by those who travel abroad. It was revealed that in many countries, above all, the consumption of food items remained the main issue. And in most countries the religious segment of the community were so worried about consumable items that they had established their own Boards to investigate into and issue Certificates of Halal or Haram on whatever items produced in their respective countries. Necessity of such a step has been very badly felt in Pakistan as well, since many food items are imported from various foreign countries. Consuming of such food items blindly by the muslim community has become a matter of grave concern. Islam is a natural religion (Deen of Fithrath). Islam has given guidance in every faculty of life to its followers. It has prescribed principles and etiquettes with regards eating and drinking too. And, Prophet Muhammad -peace be upon him- practiced upon them and presented a model. Consumption of Haram is prohibited in Quran and Hadees while it is encouraged to consume Halal and pure things and to be grateful.

Inasmuch as consuming Haram foods cause to create immorality and mean behavior and loss of interest in doing ibadath in oneself and non-acceptance of dua Similarly consumption of Halal foods becomes a cause to create Noor (illumination) in the heart, to detest against immorality and bad character and liking and inclination towards excellent and pleasing behavior, attraction and fondness towards ibadath and acceptance of duas. Hence Allah Tha'la says
‘...EAT OF THE GOOD THINGS WHEREWITH WE HAVE PROVIDED YOU...'(1:172)

A great portion of Quran, Hadees and Islamic Teachings emphasize Ummah to refrain from Haram foods and adopt Halaal foods. As such it is incumbent on every Muslim to be cautious in using only Halal and refrain from Haram. Therefore, it is far more important to have a complete understanding and an insight on Halal and Haram, else, it would not be possible to abstain from Haram and adopt Halal.

BINORIA SHARI'A BOARD PIONEERS IN PAKISTAN TO DO RESEARCH ON DRUGS, DRINKS, FOOD ITEMS, COSMETICS, SOAP,TOOTHPASTE ETC AND CATER TO THE NEED OF SHARI'A

Binoria Shari'a Board, under the governance of Binoria International Islamic University, SITE, Karachi,the prominent Religious Educational Institute in Muslim world, has come into being with Sheikhul Hadees Moulana Mufti Muhammad Naeem being Chairman and Moulana Saifullah Rabbani, Director. Some significant individuals and institutions without having proper analysis or research quote Haram items as Halal whereby Muslims are constrained and compelled to consume Haram as Halal.This is indeed a very pathetic and pitiable situation and it is necessary that Muslims are guided correctly in this aspect. With regard to the items imported to Pakistan it is important to find out how and where these things are manufactured. (I.e. test repots from laboratory, if beaf is used in these products, the way of Slaughtering the animal, etc.) As such, after proceeding through all these avenues then comes the step of issuing Fatwa. In order to accomplish all these steps Binoria Shari'a Board has come into being. This will be the first institution in pakistan where services of great Islamic Scholars (Ulamas) and renowned Mufti’s would be rendered to guide Muslims correctly in such affairs. In this aspect Jamia Binoria International and Reena Pakistan, the famous company of Italy have entered into an agreement. Accordingly, the said company, network of which is spreader in many countries in the world would send laboratory reports etc. of various different items to Binori Shari'a Board who would, after analysis and research by experts, issue the formal Fatwa as to the said item is Halal or
